Even the most confident of us have to admit... a job search can be intimidating, or even overwhelming, especially if you haven't done it lately or you feel caught in a tight hiring market.

And it's especially frustrating, discouraging and confusing when you feel like you're doing all the things you know to do... but you just hit dead ends, roadblocks and radio silence, and you don't know why or how to fix it.

And all of that seriously impacts your confidence and belief that you can do this, and that just makes it worse.

But I'm here to tell  you that you CAN do this!

A job search is not rocket science, and you don't have to be a genius to learn how to do it.

You just need to:

  • understand how the moving parts in today's hiring process fit together
  • have a clear checklist of what you do and don't want
  • be able to talk about your unique set of skills, talents and superpowers that make you the only You
  • craft a beautiful, targeted, storytelling resume and LinkedIn that makes people see you as someone they want to talk to
  • prepare yourself a little more about the psychology, strategy and mechanics of 21st century hiring

And the fastest way to make that happen is to have someone to show you the way.

A guide, a mentor, a teacher...

...a Job Search Guru on your side.

I've been a job search insider most of my career, with decades
as a recruiter across industries and levels, including 14 years in executive search for all kinds of tech startups.

I phased out recruiting as I became a referral-only custom resume writer and job search coach for professionals in competitive fields where differentiating yourself from your competition is the name of the game.

I've also spent years in for top branding and ad agencies and was resident career blogger for an NBCUniversal website.

Along the way, I learned a whole lot about how hiring managers think, how the competition presents themselves, and what does and doesn't work in terms of getting noticed and then in being seen the way you want to be seen

I also learned that most job seekers and career climbers just need a little practical information and guidance in how to prepare for, approach and navigate job searches and what they will encounter out there.

My years of recruiting, executive search and job search strategy have taught me so much about how to structure and manage your job search so you can get the job you really want.

And I have always shared everything I can with my clients and candidates, one-on-one, to empower them in their job search.

Then one day, it hit me.

I was repeating the same information and advice to all kinds of people... in interviews, recruiting calls, resume preparation sessions, coaching conversations, as well as in workshops, blogs and social media.

And I realized that the concepts and processes and questions for a job search are much the same for an executive or a new college grad

Sure, the numbers get bigger and the strategy more complex as your career evolves, but regardless of level, career path, hiring situation and industry, most people want to know:

"How do I know what to look for?"  "Where do I find jobs?"  "Is it okay to use AI in my search?"  "What kind of resume do I need?"  "How do I make the most of LinkedIn?"  "Should I work with recruiters?"  "How do I answer that interview question?"  "How should I negotiate for what I deserve?"

So I decided to organize what I think you should know into an easy-to-follow course so you don't have to be a one-one client to get the benefit of my real-world job search lessons, strategies, shortcuts, advice, insights and secrets.

The Job Search Crash Course is designed to get you into action so you can move from where you are now to where you want to be.

The Job Search Crash Course can help at any level. You might be an entry level grad looking for the best start, an ambitious mid-career climber on a growth mission, or a seasoned executive looking for another meaningful challenge.

Whatever your level, in every job search, the mission is the same:

Target what you want and appeal to the people who can hire you.

Simple, right? Not rocket science
... but depending on where you are right now, it might feel that way.

You might be...

  • getting ready to launch a search and want it to be as efficient and productive as possible (that's the sign of a winner for sure!)
  • putting yourself out on the market for the first time in years and have no idea where to start (that can be scary but I got you!)
  • tired and discouraged because you've been looking for a while and it's not working and you're losing faith (how about a fresh start and a do-over?)
  • in a situation that you didn't expect to find yourself in, and now you need to get up to speed as quickly as possible (perfect time to take a deep breath, gather your thoughts and make a new plan!)

I understand all of these places. I've been there myself, and I've helped thousands of people in all of these situations and more who have come through it stronger than ever.

In the Job Search Crash Course, I've compiled all the key things I believe every job hunter should think about, envision, plan, organize, and do in each step of the way.

So stop trying to fit in and learn to stand out! It's not rocket science, and you can do it!
